After graduating from Istanbul Saint Joseph High School, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University, from the Department of Civil Engineering.

 

He worked as Sales Manager at Sony Gulf between 1992-1993, Managing Partner at Max Mara between 1993-2000, Operations Manager at TopShop, Topman/GiySA Sabancı between 2000-2002. He worked as the Retail Director of GAP and Banana Republic brands of Başer Holding between 2002 - 2004. Gürcan, who assumed responsibility as Sales Director and COO within TeknoSA between 2004 and 2013, served as the CEO of Media Markt Turkey for 2 years. He served as CEO at Teknosa between 2015-2021 and at Gratis between 2021-2022.

 

Between 2015 and 2021, he worked as a Board Member at Netherlands-based Euronics, the world's largest electronic purchasing organization, operating in 35 countries.

 

He currently serves as the Retail Group President within Odak Group.

 

Gürcan also works as a mentor within Sabancı Holding and LEAD Network while holding the Sola Unitas Coaching Certificate. He also works as a guest lecturer / speaker at different universities.

 

He is one of the Founding Board Members of Yanındayız Association, an NGO working on Gender Equality, and also serves as the Chairman of the Education Committee.

 

Gürcan, who played volleyball professionally in the first league for many years, has many national and international degrees.

 

He works in the fields of senior leadership - management training, consultancy and executive coaching within TEM Management Development Services.
